The country will start running electric buses this year.

Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has said that electric buses will start running in the country from this year.

Addressing a function in Islamabad, Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry said that people get sick due to pollution but Prime Minister Imran Khan was working to eradicate environmental pollution. He said that in the next world there will be 20 driverless buses while Pakistan will be the first country in South Asia to run electric buses.


The Minister for Science and Technology said that keeping in view the demand for modern technology, a 10-year policy has to be formulated. In the next 10 years, we have an energy problem. Pakistan has given its renewable energy policy. Will work on a priority basis while in the next 3 to 5 years mobile batteries may not even need to be recharged, power cables and grid stations may also be deleted.


Fawad Chaudhry said that before coming to Corona we were importing everything but now Pakistan is the largest exporter of Corona related products.
Earlier, in a tweet on social networking site Twitter, Fawad Chaudhry said that electric buses will start running in Pakistan from this year and in three years, full manufacturing of these buses will also start in Pakistan.
